Cut Knife RCMP: male charged after drugs, weapon seized during search warrant

On the morning of September 18, 2023, Cut Knife RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence on Little Pine First Nation as part of an ongoing trafficking investigation.

Officers located and seized an air rifle, ammunition, approximately 6 grams of suspected cocaine, approximately 4 grams of suspected methamphetamine and drug trafficking paraphernalia at the residence. Three adult males were arrested outside the residence without incident.

As a result of investigation, 41-year-old Preston Wahobin from Little Pine First Nation is charged with:

  • one count, possession of a firearm when knowing possession is unauthorized, Section 92(3), Criminal Code;

  • one count, unsafe storage of a firearm, Section 86(2), Criminal Code;

  • one count, fail to comply with release order condition, Section 145(5)(a), Criminal Code;

  • two counts, possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine and methamphetamine), Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; and

  • one count, possession of a firearm while prohibited, Section 117.01(3), Criminal Code.

He was scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on September 19, 2023 (Information 904942930.)

The other males were released without charge.
