Misty Alexandre recognized as “Lawyer of the Year”

Misty Spring Alexandre (nee Bertram), daughter of William P. Bertram and the late Elizabeth Sawchuk Bertram, was recognized by Best Lawyers as the 2024 “Lawyer of the Year” for Construction Law. Only one lawyer in each practice area and designated metropolitan area is honoured as the “Lawyer of the Year”, making this accolade particularly significant. Lawyers are selected based on impressive voting averages received during the peer review assessments.

Misty’s father William Bertram expressed his deep pride in his daughter’s accomplishments, remarking how hard she has worked for them. He regrets that his wife Elizabeth, who passed away in the spring, was unable to celebrate the news of her daughter’s accomplishment.

Misty was raised on a farm in the Eston area, and was a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan. She received her B.A. Honours degree in 2003.

She is also a former captain of the University of Saskatchewan Women’s Huskie hockey team, where she played for five seasons and later acted as an assistant coach and colour commentator for their home game web broadcasts. She is now the Chair of the Huskie Women’s Hockey Alumni Committee.

Misty was called to the Saskatchewan Bar in 2007 and has since worked for the law firm Robertson Stromberg LLP in Saskatoon, where she is now a partner. Her practice focuses primarily on construction law and commercial debt recovery.

In addition to the “Lawyer of the Year” award, Misty is also listed in the 18th edition of The Best Lawyers in Canada for work in Construction Law.

Founded more than 40 years ago, Best Lawyers recognizes the exceptional accomplishments of top legal professionals around the world.
